Hey Look who's jammin
This is a site in tribute to the band drifter east .
Drifter east played the boston area almost non-stop until about three years ago when guitarist/lead vocals Jeff Neely decided to take a break . Fully expecting the rest of the band to go on it resulted in DE's untimely collapse .
Their message was one of hope , love & understanding in a world of rock music which was so strongly based on gloom or self-pity .
Their sound was based on newer acts such as Dave Matthews & Living Colour and older bands such as Jimi Hendrix "Band of Gypsys" and The Doors . As well as each members personal influences such as Pink Floyd , Kiss , Santana , Wes Montgomery and the list goes on .

Items of Note
Drifter east began it's long haul as a folky acoustic act known as " The Getaways " in 1994 .
In 1997 Chris Alongi joined the then already redubbed DE and the harder edge sound emerged .
Chris's work eithic & no frills take on music helped shape the reborn DE into a unique focused sound .
Backed by Kurt's pounding drums and the perverse ideas of Jeff and the band rocked .
